Profession/Title: Medical Director for the Boston Public Health Commission
Description of Job:
Third highest senior official for the city of Boston local health department. Report directly to the Commissioner/Executive Director. Responsible for all medical related issues that come up in the executive office (advisor to the Commissioner routinely and the Mayor as needed). Other responsibilities include supervision of 3 of the 6 bureaus in the Commission (Substance Abuse, Homeless Services and Communicable Disease Center), finance budget review and other duties as directed by the Commissioner
Hours Worked: 40+/week
Work Conditions: office in municipal building
Current Salary: 140K
Starting Salary: 130K
Education Required: BA or BS; MD and MPH
Skills Required:
Medical/clinical knowledge; administrative/management skills; good communication skills; political knowledge helpful
